- Will MacoTheProducer Still Be Around?
Premise
I recently realized that rebranding myself as “MacoTheProducer” wasn’t the correct direction for my YouTube channel, my professional career, or my “production” focused work. The problem I seemed to run into was that I wanted something to brand my electronic-focused music and stage name, but I took that desire to rebrand and applied it to every part of my work.
The reality is, besides my music, the rest of my hobbies and work career should be more aligned with my “portfolio”. The brand should be “Malachi Corliss, the IT professional by day, hard-working video producer, content creator, and media creator by night”. It should not be some goofy persona I made for myself because my hobby is music.
To tackle this problem, I’ve decided to go back to Malachi Corliss as my primary identity for the content I produce and the professional side of my life.
What I’m Changing
Rebranded the website as “MalachiCorliss.com”
You may have noticed (probably not) that I have a new and improved MalachiCorliss.com. This change was important to me because it was easier to tell someone (in a serious professional environment) to go check out “malachicorliss.com” instead of “macotheproducer.com”.
I have rebuilt the website to be cleaner and more professionally focused. I’m hoping the move forward with what will be a great platform to host the content I continue to produce, as I plan on delving into things completely outside of music.

Social Media
I am currently transitioning my social media platforms back to Malachi Corliss (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) The reason for this was simple: I’m not a social media influencer… But I like occasionally posting about my life on Social media for people to know what’s happening in my life. When it became “MacoTheProducer”, it was hard to justify this for anything outside of the brand.
YouTube
YouTube will be the only exception (for now), but this more than likely will change by the end of the month. The reason for this is I plan to turn some of the articles I write on this website into videos, and I would prefer anything, not music related to being “Malachi Corliss” instead of MacoTheProducer.
Will MacoTheProducer Still Be Around?
For the time being, MacoTheProducer is still my artist name, as well as my DJ name. “Maco” comes from the first two letters of my first (MA) and last name (CO).
However, it is undecided how long these will stick around. The previous YouTube videos I made about LMMS are focused around the mantra of “MacoTheProducer”, but depending on how future content goes, this may change if I see music more as a hobby and less as a career.
I love making music. But I’m not sure that I love making it a career. More than likely, it will turn into a vessel for new music.
