In this article, I'm going to share my experience of creating my own website using Notion and Super.so. Notion is a powerful productivity tool that can be used for a variety of tasks, including creating websites. Super.so is a website building platform that integrates seamlessly with Notion, making it easy to turn your Notion pages into a fully-functional website.
At first I Tried Wordpress…
When I first decided to create my website, I was overwhelmed by all of the different options available. I started with Wordpress, because that’s what everybody does. At first it worked really well, but I found it be clunky and hard to use. I also found it hard to rank in Google and my SEO was not very good.
I had heard of Notion before and knew that it was a powerful tool, but I had never used it for website building. After some research, I discovered Super.so, which promised to make the process of creating a website with Notion simple and easy.
I Discovered Notion and Super.so
After spending a couple years using Wordpress, I saw a video by Ali Abdaal showing that you could use Notion for making websites. And I thought to myself, “that’s actually kinda a neat idea.”
I then looked into it more, and realized it was SO EASY TO DO. All you needed was a Notion page, and a Super.so account. The best part was it’s free to start, so there is no risk.
Setting It Up
The key to making a Super.so site is to keep it incredibly simple. It also helps to start from one of Super’s templates and build your website around that structure.
While you will get the best bang for your buck by paying for Super, you don’t have to. (if you want to use templates and themes, you will though).
I decided to do the trial, just to see if it would work for me.
I started with the “Split” template (https://split.super.site), and made myself a “portfolio website”.
- I just had to make a Super.so account.
- I had to pick a template I wanted.
- I duplicated that template to my Notion workspace.
- I just replaced the standard template content with my own content.
- And in no time I had a website.
There are just as many features in the “free” version.
When I started using Super, they didn’t have the “theme” engine. But now you can customize your look of the website with themes instead of having to use HTML code or CSS.
This is incredibly easy to use, which eliminates the need for Code and is very helpful for entry level website creators.
Should I Pay For Premium?
There are a few features which make it absolutely worth it to pay for premium:
- Custom URL
- Ranking in SEO (my website is already on the first page of Google).
- Custom HTML and CSS code (extremely helpful for hiding pages, modifying content, or adding JS files for Google analytics).
- Automatic SSL.
I think it is very worth it to pay for the paid personal tier.
The cost is 12$ a month for the first paid tier (you don’t need the highest tier unless you are hosting a bigger website). You can also pay for a whole year and it’ll cost 11$ per month. I also purchase my domain through Google Domains, which cost me 12$ a year. So for the entire year, it only costs me 13$ a month to host a fully functional Desktop AND Mobile website that is on the first page of Google.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the process of creating my website with Notion and Super.so. The combination of the two platforms made it easy for me to organize my content and create a professional-looking website without any coding experience. I highly recommend this method to anyone looking to create a website quickly and easily.
